Peloponnisos

The oldest newspaper in Greece, published continuously since 1886. A daily paper for more than a century, it has evolved into one of the most important journalistic organizations in the country and the leading one outside the capital, offering among other things a daily edition, a Monday edition, magazines, a radio station, the pelop.gr website, and much more.

Since 2012, the publisher has been Thodoros Louloudis.

AO Pelops Patras

AO Pelops Patras was founded in 1992. It has reached as high as 14th place (in 2022) in the national SEGAS rankings, out of a total of 300 clubs—an indication of the excellent work being done within the club in recent years.

Beyond its strong present and promising future, Pelops also has a remarkable history, having produced some of the greatest athletes of all time, with participations in world and European championships. The club has already amassed 105 medals in national championships!

Region of Western Greece

One of the 13 Regions of Greece and among the largest in area, it includes Achaia, Ilia, and Aetolia-Acarnania. It covers an area of 11,336 km² and, according to the 2011 census, has a population of 643,000 residents. The largest city and capital of the region is Patras.

The Region of Western Greece has a Human Development Index of 0.861, the sixth highest in the country.

The region’s Gross Domestic Product was €8.3 billion in 2018, representing 4.5% of the Greek economy.

Since September 1, 2019, the Regional Governor has been Nektarios Farmakis.
