The Union of Radio Amateurs of Western Peloponnese, supporter of the Patras Half Marathon

The Union of Radio Amateurs of Western Peloponnese, supporter of the Patras Half Marathon

🇬🇧 The Union of Radio Amateurs of Western Peloponnese was once again a significant supporter of our race, providing invaluable assistance in facilitating communication and coordination during the competition. Their expertise in wireless communications was crucial for the effective collaboration among participants.

The Union consists of licensed radio amateurs and friends of the association, who are specialized in wireless communications across a wide spectrum of frequencies, according to the license granted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The Association is non-profit and aims to promote and develop amateur radio through research, construction, and practical application. Additionally, it promotes the participation of Greek radio amateurs in activities such as Emergency Communications, long-distance contacts (DX), international contests, and casual engagement as a hobby. Furthermore, the Association spreads amateur radio through all legal means, informs its members on amateur radio matters, and offers voluntary assistance for the restoration of radio communications and information transmission in cases of emergency, as well as in sports, cultural, and social events. All Greek citizens or foreigners permanently residing in Greece who are interested in the dissemination of amateur radio and electronic applications can become members of the Union.
